Im an American married to a Thai with a non-O, based on marriage, issued in savannakhet because I don't have 400k. I went to chaeng wattana and the paper they gave me said I need 400k to get the 2 month extension, is this true? So, now I am overstayed 3 days and headed to Poi Pet, can I do the in/out thing? Or must I stay overnight? Any info you have would be awesome as it is so hard to find info on specific situations on the internet or I am just dense, I can't figure it out and would like any I for you can give me. Thank you In advance!

You have a non immigrant 'O' visa which gives you a 90 day permission to stay stamp on each entry for a period of 1 year, on each entry you can get an extension at local immigration for a period of 60 days to visit Thai wife (1,900 baht ) or you can obtain a 1 year extension ( 1,900 baht) but in order to obtain this extension there are financial requirement 400,000 baht in a bank account in your name for 2 months or an income of 40,000 baht per month.

I suggest you obtain a 60 day wife extension this will save the trip to the border. not sure if the overstay will confuse this extension.

Sorry on my iphone I can't get the quote to work correctly... I'm on my way to poi pet now, I will get the extension next time. Can I just do an in and out with the non-o? Or must I stay one night?

You can leave the country, enter Cambodia then turnaround and come right back. No need to stay overnight.

It seems the list they gave at immigration was for a one year extension of stay. You do not need financial proof to get a 60 day extension.

As said, 60 day extension does not need money in bank.
