Star War Question

Featured Replies

Took the family to see the new Star Wars movie only to find out that my 15 year old stepson has never seen the first 6 movies. So should I have him watch the movies in the order that they were released 4,5,6 then 1,2,3? Or just let him watch it in order?

4 5 6 onwards. U can't watch new movies them go back to 80s films

In order they were released. Same way you saw em.

Yeah, but he's already seen number 7 out of order, so what difference would it make? The problem is when he watches number 4 (the first), he might laugh his ass off at the medieval special effects. Seriously, have the kid watch episode 4, then 3, and he'll know everything.

Come to think of it, don't even bother with four through six. Seven pretty much hit the reset button and has the characters back in the exact same situation they were in at the beginning of four.

Just re watched 4-6 and to be honest Lucas (ILM) did a pretty good job of SFX for 1977 (unless you watch the Special Editions in which Lucas went back and added unnecessary CG to existing scenes).

BTW... Han shot first.

Fascinating question from the pov of a 15 years old. I suspect that all 6 is an overload any how but..

a) if the narrative value is there then the sequence

b] as an aficionado and as one who wants to issue the evolution of the story telling in this as a 'craft', Star Wars, ESB then RoJ and then let him reconstruct the latent mess from what he has just seen. IE he has a choice to fill in the gaps or just consider it as another film. His response will be telling .

CanIn BKK....

Definitive statement on topic

4,5,6, then the new one. Don't bother with the prequels, they were dreadful.

Or Google 'machete order'.

All of them were just on a channel on True Vision. They showed one a week. Started with four and and ended with six.

There all rubish so I wouldn't worry

The OP should marry an Italian or Jewish woman that will make all the decisions for him.

Don't be so hard on the boy. Forcing him to watch all six.

Get it over and done with by watching them in one day. Probably best to get up early.

After seeing the new one it seems like a repetition of the same. Do they actually have writers in Hollywood? How many times do you have to destroy the Death Star? Still a great flick and all it is meant to be. Box office records obliterated.

After the prequel debacle I think they probably just wanted to play safe with the first one and get the fans back on side.

Here is another question for you.........................

Why is it that all the storm troopers wear all that heavy body armour that doesn't protect them from a single shot from the good guys?

Whats the point??
