Dog Recovered.

Featured Replies

My eight year old bitch, became ill a few months ago, she just lied on the ground and could not get up, we took her to

the vet and he gave us medicine for her, we kept on moving her about, then after about three weeks, she gradually

got up and started walking again.

She is now back to normal, does anyone know what could have caused this illness? Do I need to worry that it might happen again?

The two other dogs have not been affected.

Glad to hear she has made a full recovery :) I have no idea, never come across such symptoms... Maybe a mild poison, snake bite ?

If you find out, please let us know...

Sorry but my psychic and powers of clairvoyant have been below par this week.

Nothing useful to add then ?

have you had her blood tested,it is the same symptoms that our neighbours dog had,[parasite infection] untreated could be fatal].

look at the symptoms for tick infections.

Your dog's symptoms are exactly the same as my dog. The vet diagnosed heart worm disease. I had to stand him on his feet but he started to walk alone after time. Four weeks later he was almost running around again. Last week he suffered a relapse with the same symptoms as before . Sadly he died two days later. He was 12 years old.

I could fill 14 forums up with what could have been wrong with the pooch, the lists are endless.

Did his vet give a diagnoses? If the vet didn`t have a clue, then I suggest he takes the dog to an animal hospital for tests because whatever it was could easily return.

What did the Vet think was wrong with the dog ?

The vet did not speak very much English, my wife was not able to tell me much except "dog not well, but now better".

I live in a village up country, and not much English is spoken, and my Thai is not great.

I will, but I don't think she was poisoned as the other two dogs were not affected, snake bite? Possibly.

If you have not got anything positive to say, just keep your stupid comments to yourself.

As for these other two idiots who gave you a 'like' bah.gifbah.gif

I'm sorry to hear that, I now worry if that will happen to my dog.

How long was it before he suffered the relapse?

From being diagnosed, receiving medication and almost walking normally was 4 weeks. He had about 2 weeks almost back to normal before the relapse. At the end of that period he collapsed with the same symptoms and died 2 days later .

On a different topic our 13 year dog was diagnosed with lung cancer last year with only one lung functioning and she is still going strong after 12 months.
