BANGKOK -- About 50-metre stretch of rural road running parallel to a Klong 9 in Pathum Thani’s Nong Sua district has caved in about 1.2 metres deep aswater level in the klong has dropped to its bottom.

Villagers in Tambon Cham-or have asked authorities concerned to repair the road and to put up warning signs for motorists claiming that the land subsidence poses a threat to road users.

The road is mostly frequented by trucks carrying vegetables and fruits to Talad Thai market.

A few months earlier, several roads running parallel to Klong Rangsit irrigation canal collapsed as water level in the klong lowered substantially.
