First off, Happy holidays! I hope all of you are having/have had fantastic festive celebrations whether you are.

I posted this thread because I have just arrived in Vientiane, Laos due to the fact that I just used up my first 60 days of my triple entry tourist visa. I am spending a few days here for the holidays, but wondered whether I needed to go to the thai consulate to get my next 60 days officially activated, or do I just need to return back over the boarder for it to officially begin and be recognised?

There is nothing you need to do other than re-enter the country to use the next entry allowed by your visa.

Also remember each entry can be extended within Thailand for 30 days 1900 baht at any immigration office.

Be sure to make sure that you don't allow the visa to expire though.

May I ask you where you obtained a triple entry visa ? How long ago ?

Just returned from getting a new visa in Vientiane. Met a lovely Laotian lady who lives and works in Vientiane. My question is can she come visit me in Chiang Mai for the holidays without applying for a visa? Thanks for any info

If she has a passport she would get a 30 day visa exempt entry.

May I ask you where you obtained a triple entry visa ? How long ago ?

I'm guessing that as he has just used his first 60 day entry, he obtained the visa some time in October towards the end, when they were readily available.( mainly in home countries)
