Now this was just my local train booking office in Songkhla I dont know if its the same in Hat Yai or Bangkok . I fully understand we have Songran on the 13th of April this is why I have in the past always booked well in advance . So whats changed ? I will be in Bangkok next week so I will ask there and see what they say .Any thoughts from anyone . Cheers
sub101uk Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Ok from looking at the Thai Rail web site it would seem that you can only book up to 90 days in advance and I think I want to make a booking which works out to be 92 days in advance so that's why the problem ,
4evermaat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 If it is round trip, then the return trip must be within 90 day window.
sub101uk Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Yes well my window starts on the 12th of January and I would be returning on the 10th which is more than 90 days so looks like I will fly back but I never knew there was a 90 day rule .Thanks again
sub101uk Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Update , I just checked with Thai Railways and it would seem its not 90 the max advanced booking is only 60 days and not even 90 as we thought but I will check when in Lamphong next week .

Thaiman596 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I want to buy tickets from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, can I buy tickets at a different station (In this case Phrae)? My wife is worried that it will be a futile effort. I would appreciate your advice.
my friend I Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Yes. Den Chai would be the closest station. There will be no Q. Book as long as possible in advance as its a popular route.
