Toyota 3lt diesel cam belt, Heads up.

As there is a post running at present regarding Diesel light, having thought about cam belt for some time I would check with Toyota head office regarding same. In the book it states that it should be changed every 150,000,Km.

On all the other cars I've had it states Km/Mil or time. I couldn't see a rubber belt lasting for in my case about 14years.

Having spoken to their technician he has just informed me that it was indeed 150th km or and it's a bloody big OR 7/8 years.

I asked why that wasn't in the hand book, reply if you use Toyota for service they would have told you before the 8 years was up that it needed doing.

So now you all know so please don't go on willy nilly thinking you have loads of time. Cos you don't.

Also asked about filter Fuel, reply change every 48 months or 80th Km.

Just shows you their hand book is not very good or clear.
