Education Ministry threatens to take over Abac University if internal conflict cannot be settled in 7 days

BANGKOK: The two opposing factions of the council of Assumption University of Thailand was today given a 7-day deadline to settle their dispute or the Education Ministry will step in to take control of the management of the university.

The above ultimatum was issued by Education Minister Dapong Rattanasuwan to the two rival factions at a meeting today mediated by the university committee at the order of the minister.

An informed source said after the meeting that the university committee proposed the two factions to resign en masse so the management of the university would fall under the jurisdiction of St Gabriel Foundation which will handpick a new university council for Abac.

However, the source said that one of the two factions disagreed with the proposal.

The two sides are to meet again on January 5 at the order of the education minister and, if the conflict cannot be resolved, the source said that the education minister would invoke Section 86 of the Private University Act to take over the management of Abac and to appoint a working committee to act on behalf of the university council.

They are like a bunch of 5 year old children in a sandbox when in reality they are 50+ and all of them have doctor degrees... the graduating students almost did not get their degrees because these two fractions are fighting over the control of ABAC!!!

The university council is loosing clout.. in comes the Calvary and placement... hmm is there not the policy of replacing a president from within the school?

Even the so called. back in the day they were called the teachers colleges now up graded to full fledged Cocksure universities.. even this organization begins to choke the chicken as the general ask them to spread.

Why no adjustment meeting for the two....adm...leaders.... so they can get their funk out, and resolve this.. and love one another.. Has the Brother been in the garden a bit too long with his hands.. ops.. somewhere they should not be probing?
