BANGKOK, 14 January 2016 (NNT) - The Japanese Ambassador to Thailand has visited Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam to tighten Thai-Japanese relations.

Dr. Wissanu gave a warm welcome to H.E. Shiro Sadoshima, who was recently appointed to the post in Thailand. Mr. Shiro said he will work with the Thai government to strengthen bilateral ties.

The Deputy Prime Minister for his part expressed gratitude toward the Japanese Ambassador for his understanding of the political situation. Dr. Wissanu assured that the Thai government is undergoing a reform process within the specific timeframe, and Thailand will hold elections no later than June next year.

The two nations have enjoyed 130 years of strong bilateral ties. To commemorate the diplomatic milestone, foreign officials in Thailand and Japan are working together to organize a celebration in both countries.
