PHUKET: -- Police are currently trying to identify the body of a man believed to be Thai who was found floating in Bang Wad Dam this afternoon (Jan 20). Due to wounds found on the mans neck, police suspect he was the victim of a murder.

Lt Col Amponwat Sangraing from Thung Thong Police received a call from a local resident at 2pm today stating that a body had been spotted floating in Bang Wad Dam in Wichitsongkram Rd, Kathu. Police arrived and were led to where the body of the man was floating face up in the water.

“The victim has a lot of tattoos on his back and he was found with his neck twisted. No other injuries were found on the body and there was no identification card on him. However, officers did find a Honda Wave with a Nakorn Sri Thammarat plate parked nearby along with some clothing, a hammock and empty bottles of alcohol,” he said.
