I've been reading on a few different sites that the Thai consulates in Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos etc. now require proof of flights both in and OUT of Thailand in order to obtain a single entry 60 tourist visa. Is this true?

Where are the best places to get a 60 day tourist visa without a flight out of Thailand and proof of accommodation booking in Thailand?

Vietntiane or Savannakhet Laos and Penang Malaysia do not ask for any tickets, accommodation bookings or financial proof.

I have used this visa run service to Vientianne in the past and will be using them again next month, there is no mention of tickets being required, if there was Claus the owner would state it on his website,
