AC Playing Up Chevrolet Optra

Featured Replies

Hey Guys, hope you are well.

The air conditioning packed up the other day on our Chevrolet Optra the other day. I took it to B-Quik and the guy had a good look at things, then undid a nut near the compressor, and dabbed the liquid out with a tissue. He examined the liquid, and told me that the system had rusted up, and the whole thing would need replacing. He gave me a quote for 5 parts, which he said were all needing changing. Valve, compressor etc

They say they will order all the parts from Chevrolet, and the cost would be just short of 20,000 baht, fitted blink.png

My question is, will i have to incur this expense to get the system working again you think, or could i :-

a - get copied parts (chevrolet parts are so expensive) and get it done a lot cheaper?

or

b - get the system reconditioned, and not need to buy new parts?

I know a car place that does AC systems, here in hua hin, so i will go there for a quote tomorrow; plus i will go to Chevrolet for a quote, but i just wondered what my options were. Thanks in advance for any help / advice wai.gif

It seems you're going about things in the right way. See what the experts say and make a decision then.
