Recs for a ladyfriendly hotel near LK.........

A friend inquired about this, and I just haven't had to hotel it in a long time, since I have a condo. Specifically, something close to the LK bars or MM, that isn't a backpacker dump. Under 700 would probably be fine with him. Too cold for the pool, so no worries about that...just safe and clean, with a good bed. Hotel style would be preferred over guesthouse style. If you don't believe it's for a friend; I couldn't care less, and could very well be a future customer.

What do you mean by "lady friendly". A place for a lady to stay by herself or a place where a male guest can invite a new ladyfriend to his room and no one in the hotel staff will object.

If you mean the former, I'd personally have no qualms about staying at Le Meridien, Duang Tawan and even Raming Lodge. I've known women who have stayed by themselves at all three places with no objections.

Nancy, Nancy. Did you get an early start on the wine? Where dd it say "lady friendly"? And he said 700 baht woud be fine with HIM. The hotels you mentioned are way more than 700 baht.

Have one more glass and then sweet dreams, my dear.

It said lady friendly on the thread title, which usually but not always equates to can I take a bar girl back and give her one without anyone being to critical or prying.

If however it means a place for a single female tourist to stay it could have been worded accordingly.

I suspect the former.

OK, I see "lady friendly is in the title. I've had some wine myself. But not enough. Damn these import taxes! Cheers. Skoal. Salud.

Hmm, the subject heading is "Recs for a ladyfriendly hotel near LK" is "ladyfriendly" different than "lady friendly"?

As for the price, he said "under 700 baht would probably be fine with him" not that it definitely HAD to be under 700 baht. He didn't say what time of year, but I know that Duang Tawan has low season rates that can be good, Raming is less expensive than Duang Tawan and last time I stayed at a Le Meridien my stay was free because I used my Starwood Preferred Guest points.

Scenario 2 - just about all on the side streets....

Some do shut it down around 10 to curtail certain activies.....

Oh, (she says as the penny drops) that's what he means by "ladyfriendly". In that case, I know from first-hand observation that Duang Tawan is just the place for a frolic with a bargirl or better yet, someone who you hire to be your girlfriend for the week. I used to be a member of their fitness center and it was common to see hotel guests come with their new "girlfriends" to use the pool and for the gals to change into their newly purchased swimwear in the ladies locker room. I vividly remember one guy who had four girlfriends with him -- yes four. He got them all in the pool with him and made a big show of giving them "swimming lessons", all the time looking around to see how many other guests were admiring his good fortune. It helps that the huge pool is uniformly about chest deep. One has to work very hard to drown in that pool and since it's a dogleg design part of it is always in the shade, so tender Thai skin isn't exposed to the sun.

If it's 'ladyfriendly' under 700 Baht, I wouldn't want to be with the lady he's taking back!

Who said anything about threesomes ?

You just concentrate on buying binoculars, so you'll be able to see your team when you visit UK. biggrin.png

It was so cold this week. Were the fat chicks on Loi Kroh getting premium rates?

Will we ever get a serious reply to the OP? Not from me - I'm too deep into the wine bottle(s).

If they won't go with you based on your 700 tbh hotel, perhaps you should try an 8 thb bar of soap. If anything, the bargirls would prefer NOT to go get possibly extorted at a high end hotel. 271, 2 or 3 star hotels available in CM for the three days in question, all under 29 USD.....my experience says most would be OK for the purpose intended.

I heard August was a good month for boxed fruit juices...but as far as accommodations...in a town where having A/C can be the equivalent to having a bag of Peruvian, as a lady magnet, I think a person could have gotten a nice return on a space heater this week. Le Meridien is out, because if he sees how old a certain expat group is; he may never return to the North.

Huh? Say what? Bangmai are you using TV to send encoded messages to your cohorts?

Probably one of the best value hotels in the area that used to be 'ladyfriendly' (not stayed there for a while) is the Pornping, i think probably get for under 1000 baht on a deal. Loads of semi decent guest houses (well under 700 baht) around the Soi's off of LK and Soi 1 / 2 Moon Mueang.

clarification....his date will be a bargirl. Budget under 700.....

I think most of us knew that just having a run at you with it. Loads of places in the Soi's off Loi Kroh.

Also depends on the dates he is coming. Many places are booked during the flower festival.

Oh these lustful vagabonds, urbane and sophisticated "men of the world".

Travelling the world, buying women.

Why don't you ask your friend why he does not take a prostitute in his own country?

I didn't have to ask; he told me. 7100 THB for a short time with a Korean girl. They meet at the local Panda Express.

The Royal Panerai Hotel (no swimming pool) appears to operate a fill the rooms policy and often discounts down to 450 baht. At this price in terms of value / quality of room and location it is hard to beat. It is ladyfriendly and at the top (North) end of the MM. A bit of a walk to LK but close to Zoe / Spicy etc.

As far as your other sensationalized remark...no he doesn't travel the World buying women...he has two nice houses at a well known Thai beach resort, one rented for 20,000 thb per week, he still doesn't waste money. The recent reports are that the Russians are better tenants than the Euro-Trash, even though he said they left it smelling like crap.

Getting back on topic, I think the Traveler Inn is pretty nasty. Would suggest Bautong Lodge (Bua Thong, but that's how they spell it), Basic Line in Soi 1, or the Lux Hotel on Moon Muang. Also there's the Nice Mum Lodge in soi 2. Some of these places suffer from not having full 24/7 reception, although rooms are fine. Lux is an actual hotel in that sense.
