Kenny202 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Paying anywhere between 190 - 250 baht for these. Just wondering if anyone has found better option? Maybe buying online or from a hospital? Any help appreciated
harrry Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Theere are several brands which are the same medicine which may be cheaper than Ventolin which is a brand name. That said I used to get mine for about 30% less by buying 10 at a time from a large pharmacy. For a hospital you need to see a doctor so it will add to the cost. Currently I recieve all my medicine from a hospital when I see my specialist once every 3 months (Government Hospital) The costs though are not broken down but are reasonable.
cooked Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I paid ฿190. I now use whatever generic is available. Anyway they don't have Ventolin in Thailand, only Wentolin.
Kenny202 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 I've found the generics only 10 or 15 baht cheaper
Apiwan2 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 My mate used to buy the brand sirithai. Which is a round shape.. And not the ventolin inhaler type He used to swear by it just one puff a day but 1,000 baht each. Available at most pharmacy.
happynthailand Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Sorry ,you can buy Ventolin in Thailand wife buys it in the morning market for 200thb

Jingthing Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I pay approximately 200 at both P and F and Fascino. You can get a 5 percent discount card at Fascino. Ventolin is sold most everywhere here.
cooked Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Sorry ,you can buy Ventolin in Thailand wife buys it in the morning market for 200thb Who said you can't buy it?

So sorry about your alkeimers cooked. What .... a nice guy, are you a school teacher by any chance, they like pedantry. (Probably not as you can't spell Alzheimer correctly). It was a JOKE, you see, A HUMOROUS COMMENT, I asked for Ventolin and got a blank stare, 'don't have'. I then asked for Wentolin and got some. Same thing when I asked for Voltaren. Do you get it now?
Kenny202 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 I know I can buy it here (anywhere). Just want to know if anyone sources cheaply
Jingthing Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Well if you know where you can get it for 190, I'm sure you won't find it for less than 150, so isn't 190 cheap enough? It's not like it gets used up in a day. There are 200 puffs on it. I use 8 puffs a day.

Jingthing Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Sure it is, but I doubt you'll find it. It's so cheap already. I don't get the problem. You're talking about about saving just a few baht a day. Spend your time on more real savings ... much more easily found. It would be like I know where to get 40 baht noodle soup, where can I find 38 baht noodle soup.

And they're not cheap here they're dearer than Australia. The topic is about sourcing medication not your opinion or about soup. If you don't have anything factual to add
Jingthing Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I didn't actually say that I found it myself as cheap as 150. I said that's as low as you could possibly find, and probably won't. Again, saving a few baht a DAY between 190 and 150 if you could find 150. Sorry if that's meaningful money to you.
sunnyjim5 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Ventolin Inhaler bought in Thailand >< 190 Bht In the UK if bought without prescription from a supermarket pharmacy £7 for two (Approx 170 Bht each)
Jingthing Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Ventolin Inhaler bought in Thailand >< 190 Bht In the UK if bought without prescription from a supermarket pharmacy £7 for two (Approx 170 Bht each) That's nice. In the U.S. the retail price is over 50 DOLLARS. So maybe that's why I think they're basically giving it away in Thailand. http://www.goodrx.com/ventolin-hfa

What your saying is you don't know, and now you're being sarcastic trying to score points. Any money is meaningful to me. Probably have more money than most but retired early and here for a long time, possibly 30-40 years without work....but of course it's all gone off topic hasn't it?

Now Ur just embarrassing urself. $6 in OZ I rigged the website, did I? Anyway, I hope you can find a source and save your 2 or 3 baht a day on Ventolin. Good luck! Some other ways to save money on asthma. You could cut down on daily puffs and see if that is good enough. Baht saved. Or you could drink strong black coffee. That's helpful for asthma.
DogNo1 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Whoa! Bad blood over a few baht a day - maybe ten to twelve cents US adding up to maybe $3.00 per month? Tsk, tsk. That's about the cost of one coffee at Starbucks. I acknowledge that a little here and a little there does add up though.

I can understand Jingthing "biting" he posted a genuine link which indicates the medication is much more expensive (as most medications are) in the States. He was then subject to an unwarranted attack which challenged his well meant and honest post.
SantiSuk Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 If in Bangkok (you don't say where you live) the cheapest pharmacy I have found is one in Sukhumvit soi 77 (soi OnNut) about 100 metres from it's junction with Sukhumvit between the traffic lights and Big C. I don't use Ventolin but an expensive inhaler like Symbicort is 1,250 whereas the cheapest I have found it anywhere else (like the Nana pharmacises) in Thailand is 1,450 . Other lung drugs I use are similarly discounted.
