Adele: Donald Trump 'had no permission' to use music
By Mark Savage

LONDON: -- Pop star Adele has issued a statement to distance herself from Donald Trump, after he used her music at his rallies.

The Republican presidential candidate, whose slogan is "Make America great again", has recently been playing Adele's hit Rolling In The Deep as his "warm-up" music.

"Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning," her spokesman confirmed.

It is not the first time Trump has been criticised for appropriating pop songs.

His response.......Do you know who I am?

Perhaps a US lawyer can chime in on this. God knows there enough of them there as they have more in the US than the rest of the world combined.

I'm not sure if there would be a copyright infringement as it's not a paid venue, but free. Of course if he were campaigning for funds that would probably change things. I haven't heard that he is or has however, just the opposite in fact.

From a legality stance, it's more about the venue than the politician. If the venue has a Public Performance License (which nearly all do, of course), the politician can use just about whatever music they want for just about whatever purpose they want. All the artists can do is complain and try to distance themselves, if they so wish.

Personally, I think it's dreadful, but I am rather stupid......

He might also add "it's ok adele loves me, she really does. She thinks I am great, just great"

Trust me.

In other news Fleetwood Mac distanced themselves from Hillary Clinton using their smash hit Little lies, stating that the whoppers HRC tells are in no way little.

P.S This non news item shows how far identity politics has gone. It's as silly as refusing to like Wagners music because Hitler liked it.

No, it would be as silly as using Wagner's music for campaign events.

I dunno - ride of the Valkyries would fit in quite nicely with a no Muslim immigration policy, cue the helicopters.
