BMA pushes on with public space cleanup

BANGKOK, 5 February 2016 (NNT) – Officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have paid a visit to Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market to proceed with the public space reorganization campaign.

Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra led other city officials in an operation to reclaim footpaths from unauthorized street vendors at Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market.

Despite the change of his advisor from Pol Maj Gen Wichai Sangprapai to Pol Maj Gen Phanurat Meepian earlier this month, the Governor affirmed that all projects of the BMA will be unaffected and will continue as planned, including the cleanup of public areas.

Similar to previous cleanup operations, MR Sukhumbhand admitted that some vendors might be upset about being moved out of their current spots. He, nonetheless, assured the vendors that new spaces have already been prepared for all of them in nearby locations.
