In a way - they are correct .

The virus exists in mosquitoes or in humans- there is no evidence that the virus can be found in other animals.

At the moment there has only been one case reported in the Kingdom.

So if you think about it- unlikely there will be an epidemic at the moment.

Japanese tourist staying in Samui was diagnosed with Zika on returning home.

Can you provide a link to this information?

Is it alleged the tourist contact the virus whilst in Samui ?

No, don't remember in which Asian paper I read it,

Yes, contacted the virus in Samui according to the Japanese authorities.

Like Dengue, it is spread by the Aedes Aegypti, so that's an unprofessional and irresponsible statement.

Calm down folks this is just the latest scare. Like Ebola, mad cow, foot and mouth ect

Not so, it's extremely serious due to the behaviour and distribution of the vector, the surge in the figures of microcephalic babies being born in Brazil are a major concern.

that didn't take long...

"as so far it has spread mostly only through mosquitoes with very few instances of sexual transmission suspected."

good thing as there are hardly any mosquitoes in Thailand and for sure no boom boom.

Wrong, as far as I know there is not one single mosquito in Thailand

apparently they are all married tongue.png

Exactly, no risk at all :)

Especially since the married ones looked a non Immigrant O requirements and decided never to come eat here: we are safe thanks to immigration department ..
