Take tollway or not from Don Meuang to Seacon square?

Landing DM on a Tuesday midday and taking taxi going to Novotel Bang Na on Sri Nakarin not so far from Seacon Square.

Could ask taxi to take tollway (Don Meuang tollway-Chalerm Maha Nakhon-Bang Na Trad) to Sri Nakarin or take Lat Phrao rd at Chatuchak and Sri Nakarin. What would be best traffic wise (fastest route-money not an issue)

Thank you.

I'd definitely avoid Lat Prao.

That said, whatever route you choose you will hit pretty bad traffic on Srinakarin from either direction (Bang Na or Lat Prao) so it really makes little difference.

If it were me however I'd use the Expressway.

Sorry - Edit!

Just read the OP properly, I thought you were going to Seacon Square.

If you are going to the Novotel Bang Na - definitely use the Expressway, forget about the Lat Prao route.

The expressway to the motorway is definitely faster. Traffic going north on Srinakarin will not be a problem and the Novotel is a short distance from the exit. I use this route frequently rather than streets. Lad Phrao road is a constant traffic jam as well as Srinakarin going south.

I'd take Tha Ram Intra to the Ram Intra/Bangna highway, then taking that highway down to the underneath bit of Bangna-Trat highway until you hit the southern end of SriNakarin.

But then I'm a cheap Charlie and that's only 40 baht of tolls as opposed to the 100+ that you will run up. You won't get there much quicker than I would either!

Don't go down Lad Prao, the traffic just south of DOn Mueng is much worse these days as the Kasetsart flyover on Phahonyothin has been knocked down in order to prepare for the new skytrain extension. So if you don't take the expressway you will hit hard traffic even at midday. I did that route last month but wasn't paying attention to the route taken. Somehow we took the expressway and arrived in Hua Mak, then we went to srinakarin from there, very light on traffic, comparatively.

Thanks, expressway it will be, and not tomorrow, just planning.

I'll check the map via Tha Ram Intra.

Santisuk, you mean Ram Intra and 9, then underneath Bang Na Trad to Sri Nakarin upwards to Novotel? I see need to make U-turn further up Sti Nakarin to Novotel.
