Travelling to Petchaboon, any recommdations?

Featured Replies

Any recommendation going to petchaboon,

the sea fog mountain (guess it's late to see)

if any good camping sites such as in Khao Yai camping sites,

water fountains? natural nice places to visit,

Oh before forget, how many driving hours from Bkk? we go driving own car to there,

As well if any nice places on the way, I heard about sun flower farms somewhere around Ayutthaya,

Any additional ideas will be high appreciated, thanks

We live in Petchabun province. Unfortunately it is very in vogue this year and has been swamped with a much higher than usual number of tourists.....mostly Thai. Khao Kor is now beginning to look like Pattaya only lacking girlie bars as the final touch. A lot of the new resorts are very tacky looking to appeal to the local tourists. As for Phu Tab Buk.......very sad to see it now. Even the tourist board has been grossed out and ordered a lot of demolitions of the worst offending places.

In Petchabun town a very nice room can be had for 350 baht a night. A cabin in the hills will cost 1000 baht and up. Better to go in the hot season when there are very few tourists. The sea of clouds thing is very disappointing if you have to mill about with thousands of other people. Having said that ... Thais like it that way. The worse the traffic jams up and the more crowded it is the better they like it.

Petchabun town is about 4.5 hours driving from Bangkok at safe speeds of about 100kph.....if you don't stop for lunch. Nice national parks and camping to the east of the town which is a bit less visited than Khao Kor.
