webfact Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Filmed bus stunt causes mini-panic in LondonLONDON: -- People taking a stroll near Lambeth bridge in London got a shock early on Sunday when a double-decker blew up in front of their eyes. It was all for the latest Jackie Chan movie, and it sparked panic among those who hadn’t been informed via twitter, which meant most of the local residents. -- (c) Copyright Euronews 2016-02-08
Scott Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 In this day and age, it's probably best that this sort of stuff is filmed on a set and far away from the public.
NongKhaiKid Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I'll bet the 999 operators etc weren't impressed by the stunt.
reggaebkk Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 What is Twitter? a Bird ?? One of the many modern ways for people to exist more. Before people didn't exist, but now they can vomit their life on Facebook and Twitter, so they exist more, they are more important because they have a place in the virtual world, with their OWN URL... wow! Don't you know? If you don't have a Twitter account where you can prove that you live such an amazing life, you are theoretically dead... I'm sure you're sorry to hear that.

One use is for personal vanity, the other is an excellent way of information sharing. Try it and see. You may be surprised.
Jonmarleesco Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Thai-style - or Chinese - logic being demonstrated in the UK. Common sense says it should have been well publicised, and well beforehand.
Jonmarleesco Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 No doubt the British government will bear Jackie Chan's expertise in mind, when the next terrorist threat arises.

Obviously not that good a means of information sharing, as it had been advertised on twitter and most of the locals didn't know about it! I expect that several just shrugged their shoulders and muttered something about "there will be another one along in a minute". Some of the cannier locals realised it must be a set up, as normally on that route the buses travel in threes....
kartman Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 But if well publicised not as much traction for the film .
