Criminal activity, a hard way to make an easy living. He is really going to understand that concept now.

so many try, so many fail...

most criminals live a life of hiding and chronic stress.

i'm happy with my subsistence life, free, not watching my back but watching the sunset ...

if this guy did it he will be in jail for long, having killed a man for nothing, and having had some money for... a week facepalm.gif

Spanish gruesome murder suspect arrested in Cambodia

G0DL5oPyrtt5HBAi4FsMueG55koXgEaqWERZETSC

BANGKOK: -- Spanish murder suspect Artur Segarra Princep was arrested last night by Cambodian police at Cambodia's famous beach resort town Kampong Som while trying to slip out by ship.

Cambodian police told Thai authorities that the 36-year-old suspect wanted in Thailand for the gruesome murder of his countryman David Bernat was arrested before midnight at a Cherry Happy foodshop at this famous resort town of Kampong Som or known as Sihanoukville.

He was trying to escape out of the country by sea, according to Cambodian authorities.

His Thai girlfriend Pritsana San-ubon confirmed the arrest of Mr Artur after she was shown by Thai authorities of the man arrested by Cambodian authorities.

Artur dressed in sports jacket, a blue Jean, wearing a dark glass and a sports shoe.

He was reported to be very exhausted upon his arrest last night.

A press conference will be held this morning by Cambodian police.

Artur was suspected by the police of murdering Spanish businessman David Bernat, chopping up his body in different parts and dumping them into the Chao Phraya river.

The suspect’s Thai girlfriend Pritsana has told the police in Surin province that the suspect came to stay with her at her house in Ban Nai in Tambon Sameong, Muang district of Surin since January 31 and left her house on Saturday. She however denied any involvement in the murder.

Earlier yesterday Pol Gen Panya Mamen, an advisor to the National Police Office, said that police were gathering evidences before asking the court for an arrest warrant for the suspect.

He said that police had the clues about the location where the victim was kept, killed and dismembered but he declined to elaborate.

For once I can say of the RTP, good job.

He was arrested in Cambodia presumably by the police there after he was recognised by locals and is detained in Cambodia.

Good job by the Thai police ?

Even though in a month of Sunday's you'd never concede it, yes, a good job.

The investigation is a RTP one which established that he may be in Cambodia and they asked their counterparts there to assist. What more could they have done considering that they have no jurisdiction in Cambodia?

Without the Thai police investigation there would never be any reason for him to have been apprehended.

The RTP were onto this really quickly. They made the connection between the report of a missing Spaniard, identified the body, checked banking records and others and then proceeded to track the guy they suspect is the culprit and released his photo to media. Obviously they also notified their Cambodian counterpart and border police and liaised with them to apprehend the guy. So yes, the RTP did in fact do a good job. But hey, don't let that stop you and others from knocking them just for the sake of it.

I reckon a lot of the TV community who love to kick the RTP would be the type who would call them for assistance at the drop of a hat....rather than use their own expert, visionary forensic skills and expertise.

speaking thai is no crime. no occupation is no crime. visiting thailand often is no crime. chopping up a guy is a crime.

BANGKOK: -- The Spanish man suspected of killing his compatriot and dismembering his body was handed over by Cambodian authorities to Thai naval officers at an immigration office in Cambodia’s Koh Kong province about noon Monday.

The suspect, Artur Segarra Princep, was arrested by Cambodian police on Sunday night at a food shop in Kampong Som port town. It was suspected he planned to slip out of Cambodia by sea via one of the ships docked at the port.

A squad of naval officers led by Commander Chairat Khampirom, commander of the 182nd marine task force based in Ban Hat Lek in Klong Yai district of Trat went to the Cambodian immigration office at Ban Jam Yiem in Koh Kong province to receive the suspect.

The suspect was later taken into a van and whisked to Klong Yai immigration office which is about eight kilometers from the border and eventually taken on a helicopter and flew to the National Police Office in Bangkok.

Artur Segarra Princep was wanted by Thai police for the gruesome murder of a Spaniard, David Bernat. The victim was later dismembered and his body parts dumped into the Chao Phraya river.

Police suspected that the victim was abducted, tortured and forced to give up information about his bank accounts to the suspect who was reported to have made several withdrawals from the victim’s account through ATMs.

Arrest warrant issued for Spanish murder suspect

0802003-wpcf_728x410.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok South Criminal Court this late afternoon issued a warrant for the arrest of Spanish murder suspect Artur Segarra Princep on charges of premeditated murder and cover-up of the crime.

The suspect was flown in a helicopter from the Thai-Cambodian border in Trat province to Bangkok late afternoon in the company of the national police chief, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichinda. He was arrested on Sunday by Cambodian police in Kampong Som port town as he tried to slip out of Cambodia in one of the vessels docked at the port before he was handed over to Thai authorities on Monday.

Pol Gen Chakthip said that the suspect denied all the charges against him which, he noted, was not unexpected.

An informed police said that the suspect was also charged with overstaying his visa by the Immigration Bureau.

Artur was accused of murdering his compatriot, David Bernat, and then dismembering his body before dumping the human parts into the Chao Phraya river.

Yes he looks quite bored by the goings on, If he has denied the charges he obviously thinks he can lie his way out of anything.

He seems to have planned his escape, would have to have organised and paid for a ringbolt (paid stowaway trip).

A common trait of psycopaths is that they think they can lie their way out of anything, not to say he is one, but sure is a bit whacko.

The GF must also be a nice girl, and her other Thai male friend who probably helped Chopper in the deed.

One thing though, Artur must have known the victim for a while to be able to gain knowledge of his wealth and plot his demise, or they had some bussiness relationship.

Waiting for the next episode to reveal all.

You sure about that? Thirty-seven million sounds a lot like suicide.

was the warrant issued after his arrest?

under Thai law are you guilty if a warrant is issued for your arrest?

are there any options available on being arrrested? I remeber the police issue themselves reward money for solving cases, if one were to offer reward money for finding an alternative would this be acceptable under thai law?

on the arrest warrant thing, is the Spaniard still a suspect or is he now a murderer?

many questions

I called on them, about 11 years ago. They were useless and did nothing. I shouldn't have bothered. Next time [if there is one] I won't.

Like a scene out of some movie "Hannabal Lecter" arrives by helicopter to be studied by Bangkok's finest.

Yes they did make it a bit dramatic, he sits there like he's waiting for his pizza delivery.

What he is actually waiting for, unbeknownst to him, is a bullet as he will surely get the death penalty, and i don;t see anyone objecting to it! Sick <deleted> deserves it!

oh well guess his life is all done and dusted...nothing to do now but hang around and wait to die and hope it's sooner rather than later.

HANG AROUND, I really like that one. I truly hope he will, IF found guilty. I do hope that Segarra will NOT be extradited to Spain, this guy has no rights and I don't want him going through a resocialising programme, with couple years in Prison with other like inmates from whom he can learn to perfect his trade, and then a new job with State assistance and all the rest.

I think that the reason the cops were quick to sort this,in fact i think they probably raced each other to sort it.I think the inducement was because someone mentioned 37,000,000.I reckon he will be answering questions on where the money is,long before they get to question him about the actual murder.
