Deputy PM: PM not angry but wants understanding from the press
NNT News

BANGKOK, 8 February 2016 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon has affirmed that the Prime Minister has been hard at work and needs understanding from the press.

Commenting on a recent incident where interviewers were scolded by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha, Gen Prawit insisted that the premier was not enraged at the media for asking certain questions. Instead, he pointed out that some questions had already been answered several times, yet some press members pretended to not comprehend the details given.

Gen Prawit pointed out that Prime Minister Prayut has been putting in his best efforts in order to drive the country forward. He thus wished that all sides would understand the premier’s true intentions.

Quote Prime Minister has been hard at work and needs understanding from the press. unquote. Come on guys he is practically on his knees pleading cut him a little slack. Flim flamming people is harder than you think. He has to sugar coat a poison pill to make it palpable. Fooling the voting masses and making them love you is not an easy thing. He is trying to break new ground here because past constitutions have not worked. Like Svengali he is hard at work.

How about if this hot-tempered, loose-tongued, we-all-need-to-come-together-and-sing-kum-ba-yah prime minister for once would show some understanding for the press instead? Or is that too much to ask?

You, dear prime minister, want to leave a good impression with the press, not vice versa. And if you cannot handle tough questions (even if they are asked multiple times), you should not have accepted the post.

The prime minister is the most high-profile representative of his or her government, and whenever the prime minister throws a tantrum out of the blue, it reflects badly on his or her entire government. In a democracy (and you constantly insist that Thailand is one), the prime minister is always answerable to the press, regardless how annoying and nagging they can often be.

Odd that someone who feels ‘victimized‘ by misunderstanding seems to work so hard at being misunderstood.

By saying he should not have accepted the post appears to suggest there was some sort of legitmate offer/request made for him to do it in the first place.

Why do Thai people not understand their PM? He is also Thai, they should understand him! Maybe it's because this is the Hub of Misunderstandings? Or, they just pretend to not understand him... Either way, it can be fixed with a Memorandum of Understanding. You understand?

He is making Thailand the hub of non-reconciliation.

He whines incessantly. He is just wasting the Thai people's time.

More like playing for time, however, he lacks the most important thing for acheiving this which is patience.

Why are these military guys all whiny and crying all the time? They said this and they said that~we should scare them, or put them in jail because we can....

Focus on the work to be done, and quit complaining. Produce results!

the Prime Minister has been hard at work and needs understanding from the press.

That in mind we all understand the PM exactly, and where he wants to take country. Why is he whinging ? He gets paid for the job he's doing, and probably some more. Remember he took on this job. No one asked him. He wanted it.

'... Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon has affirmed that the Prime Minister has been hard at work and needs understanding from the press ... Or they weren't satisfied with the answers. Government ministers shouldn't expect the luxury of an understanding media.
