BANGKOK, 13 February 2016 (NNT) - The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) is now gathering comments on the first draft of the permanent constitution from its members before forwarding them to the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) on Monday, February 15th.

NLA whip Jate Sirataranont said the assembly is now putting together a list of suggestions from its members. These comments will be reviewed once again by a committee chaired by NLA vice president Surachai Liengboonlertchai. And on February 15th, the list will be handed to the drafting team.

He said members of the NLA had agreed on several clauses in the first draft such as the mixed-proportional representation, the composition of senator numbers, and the composition of the position of prime minister.

"....the first draft of the permanent constitution..........."

Only in Thailand would they equate 5 years with "permanent"....................

The NLA suddenly spring to life after 19 months of docile and routine existence. Who would have thought that they now have debates and suggestions on a very serious matter. Hope that is spontaneous reacting to the people concerns.

gathering comments from its members

Members that include 52.5% of seats occupied by active and retired military officers.

Representatives for the Thai people - ZERO per cent.

What on earth have they been doing since May 2014?

Oh...they are getting paid by the hour you say?
