If im currently on a tourist visa, and I want to change this to a ED visa. Is this possible to change to ED in Thailand or do I have to leave the country to go on a new visa run? I know its possible to change from Tourist visa to non o in Bangkok.

I am moving ether to Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai in a month or so..

You will have to apply for the ED outside Thailand with paperwork from the school you have signed up with.
