Ive found the best and freshest spuds I buy here are the little packets of 2 or 3 I buy in the smaller Tesco lotus shops (similar to 7/11). They look like dutch creams, always fresh and firm and do well for chips, mash and roast potatoes. Lovely flavour

These are the most common variety I see here.

these are the ones I was talking about. Really flavorsome spud, good all rounder, keep for ages and about 30 baht for 3

These are the most common variety I see here.

I'm not a potatoexpert but those look like the ones in Europe, i guess they are the Bintje-variety. Good for everything and they stay firm when cooked.

I'll check those mini tesco's. But some months ago my wife brought great ones from the market, maybe it depends on the season when they have the good ones.

We had 5 kg of them and they lasted forever in the fridge.

I wonder how many kilos in a bag? Looks like it might be 4-5kg, which would put the price per kilo about the same as it is in Makro.

They look nice though.
