I want to ask someone in thai about the charges someone else again thai is facing, from my reading today when arrested the police apparently present official charges within 48hrs and then the lengthy drawn out process begins, Im having a little trouble getting the required information even with informal translators I get rehashed of the how it happened story and not the specific charges

So I can understand the situation I want to specifically ask in thai via email

What official charges is he facing? Or.. What charges "exactly" is he facing?

And possibly.. although may be irrelevant:

How has he plead to each charge so far?

If there is a prefix to nudge the recipient to be precise and concise I'll take that too..

Thanks in advance! :)

For somebody to be able to do that, they would need to have a) the necessary understanding of Thai law and vocabulary B) the knowledge of what those terms correspond to in English. Not many people fulfill those requirements.

On top of that, there may not be an exact description of charges available in the documents. I.e. we cannot be 100% sure that the police have been specific about the charges.

That being said, you could try asking using this sentence:

สิ่งที่ผมต้องการคือ ข้อหาตามกฎหมายที่ตำรวจได้ระบุไว้ในเอกสาร ไม่ใช่รายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้น ขอขอบคุณล่วงหน้ากรับ

Back translated, approximately: What I need are the legal charges that the police have specified in the documentation, not the details of what happened. Thank you in advance.

I am assuming you are male. If not, we need to change the personal pronoun.
