Bamboo furniture seized, suspect arrested in Bangtao Beach encroachment raid

PHUKET: -- Cherng Talay Police yesterday afternoon (February 20) seized several bamboo tables and a number of chairs from an undisclosed site in front of Bangtao Beach, and have charged a man with encroachment and damage to state forestry land.

At about 1pm yesterday, a raiding team seized and confiscated a total of three bamboo tables, and some 31 bamboo chairs from a site in Cherng Talay's Moo 2, in the area of Bangtao Beach.

The bamboo furniture has been taken back to the station for questioning. So far they have remained silent and are being held in custody until bail of 1000Baht per piece has been received to allow them to return home.
