Two airmen injured in a plane crash in Nakhon Phanom



NAKHON PHANOM: -- A pilot and his assistant were injured when a two-seater training aircraft in which they were flying crashed into a tapioca plantation somewhere between Muang and Pone Sawan districts of Nakhon Phanom before noon yesterday (Wednesday).

The two airmen whose identities were unknown were later rushed to Nakhon Phanom provincial hospital.

The training plane belong to the international aviation college of Nakhom Phanom University.

Police said that the cause of the plane crash remains unknown as experts from the international aviation college are yet to arrive to inspect the crash site and to conduct an investigation.

Have to agree with you. Crash with fuel - wreckage is black. Without fuel it is white. Shame.

Look on the bright side.... the other 6 trainee pilots who were sharing the plane and the flying lesson all got out alive and unharmed....

It was a controlled force landing and the doors opened up fine so can't imagine any serious damage to the pilots

As they say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, any landing that you

can takeoff again is a fantastic landing. From the damage in the photographs I will guess

they walked away to a ride to the hospital, so I will go with, this was a good landing.

Diamond light aircraft use Diesel engines.

Diesel or Jet A1. Thats much less likely to ignite in a crash.

Ah Yes,As normal in many countries of the world.We can make money teaching new pilots how to fly, so lets buy an airplane with what we have"".What ? Maintenance ?,Maintenance ? "We don't need no stinking maintenance.!.".........There is an old adage about flying written during WW1 " Flying in itself is not inherently dangerous,but it is very unforgiving of mistakes" The painted picture with this saying showed a tall stately Oak tree all alone in the middle of a plowed field with an old Curtis JN-4 Jenny stuck in the top.
