Marine Police Raid Fake Motor Oil Factory in Bangkok
Picture courtesy of SiamRath. Marine Police officers have uncovered an illegal operation producing counterfeit motor oil in Bangkok. Acting on a warrant, officers raided a property located at 90/64 Sirikasem 17 Road, Bang Phai, Bang Khae District, following an investigation into the production of counterfeit lubricants bearing forged trademarks. The raid, led by Pol. Col. Pornsak Laorujiralai, Deputy Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau’s Marine Police Division, along with Pol. Col. Ritthi Phaophan and Pol. Lt. Col. Sanya Phumphotong, resulted in the arrest of six individuals. These included Mr. Thongdee, 58, Mr. Inthach, 50, and four Myanmar nationals employed at the site. Authorities seized significant quantities of counterfeit and used motor oil, including: • 2,000 litres of used motor oil stored in two large plastic drums. • 124 six-liter gallons of counterfeit motor oil with forged trademarks. • 3,000 gallons of counterfeit automotive coolant. The suspects face multiple charges, including: • Misleading the public regarding the origin, quality, and condition of motor oil. • Manufacturing and possessing counterfeit fuel and trademark-infringing goods. • Possession of hazardous materials (used motor oil) without proper authorisation. • Operating a business harmful to public health without a license. The four Myanmar workers were additionally charged with entering and residing in Thailand without permission. All suspects, along with the seized evidence, have been handed over to investigators from Division 1 of the Economic Crime Suppression Division for further legal proceedings. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the operation. -- 2024-12-05 -

Customs Department Bolsters Drug Suppression Efforts with Canine Reinforcements
We have been down this road many times before. Foreign police department donates highly trained detection dogs to Thai Customs/Police etc. The dogs are then not used as it is lambaak to have to transport them around and look after them 24-7. They will just be dumped in a kennel or compound somewhere as has always happened previously.
