Hi All,

It's been a while since I've used the trains. Does anyone know if the trains are running anywhere close to the schedules posted on these sites?

In particular, I'm interested in finding out if the Sprinter #9 leaving Hua Lamphong at 0830 still runs at that time, and if the Sprinter #4 leaving Sawankhalok at 0740 still runs at about that time.

I'm actually trying to get to/from either Taphan Hin or Phichit the quickest way by rail, so I would prefer the Sprinter over the Rapid and Local trains.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers,

Spee

The timetable on the net is not correct/ complete. Better to get a paper timetable available from any station. The one in thai has more trains than the timetable in english.

I don't remember 100 % but I think the trains you are after don't stop at Pichit. [ The train to Chiang Mai doesn't stop at Ayuttaya tho it says it does on the net timetable]

The departure times r correct for the 2 trains u mentioned

I think that ALL trains going from Bangkok to Chiangmai stop in Ayuttaya. This is the transfer point for either going North or Northeast (Issan). Otherwise your post is correct.

I traveled up to Chiang Mai from Bangkok last weekend and both the trains that I took appear to be correct on the State Railway timetable. Just note though, that on both journies the train arrived 90 minutes late in both directions. Probably nothing knew there. :o
