Yaba drug mule caught in Mahasarakham with 16,000 pills in a shopping bag

MAHASARAKHAM:-- Police arrested a Laos native for delivering a large quantity of Ya Ba in a decorative "rainbow" carrier bag on Friday. The man, who said he was paid 50,000 baht to deliver the amphetamines, was nabbed as he stood waiting near the Mahasarakham market.

Officers led by Korkiat Wonsumet of the Mahasarakham police who have been on the heels of a gang distributing drugs in the region since last month lay in wait and arrested Somphet (alias Sombat) Phetsalart,48, a native of Suwanakhet standing at an ATM next to an entrance of the "Expo" market. They searched him finding the stash of pills, a Laos passport and mobile phone.....and the decorative and ubiquitous shopping bag.

Police have been on the trail of a Laos woman mastermind known only as "Jae" who hires mules to deliver the drugs to customers in Thailand. Investigators discovered that Somphet picked up the drugs in Nakhon Panom for delivery to Mahasarakham.

The main ingredients for yaba are coming from china, massive problem with this in NZ and the main culprits are Chinese mafia importing the main ingredients and local gangs working with them.

If they can smuggle it into NZ in large amounts then it's open country here.

You can buy the main ingredients in huge quantities over the counter in China even though it is supposed to be restricted to a small amount.

Tiffy sold here has the ingredient in it.

Have they ever thought of using one of these mules work with the police in catching the people higher up or is that asking too much?
