They should take a leaf out of the Shaolin monks lifestyles,

that would take care of any obesity problems.

I have trained many years at a Shaolin school and all i can say is that Thailand is far too warm for sporting like that.

But sitting on their butt all day can't be healthy for them, i know a big temple in BKK where they grow all kinds of crops around the Watt, recycle goods and sell it and probably much more. They are busy there every day.

So how do you explain Thailand's number one sport MuayThai which is trained all around the

country out in the open heat?

I doubt if Thaiboxing is thailands #1 sport, i never see young kids training for it here in the parks. They always play soccer. I wouldn't even know where there's a Muay Thai school in BKK, have never seen one.

But those Shaolin monks train all day long and treat their body very well. Just look at demonstrations of what they can do and you'll realise it takes many many years of training for their perfection.

Here you see the Shaolin monks in action:

eating only 1 meal a day is probably not a good idea, health wise

a few years ago there was an article i a newspaper about this,

it claimed that the food given to monks had been going downhill (qualitywise) for years, at least in the cities

families have a far busier life style now than a few years back, they have little time to prepare proper food for the monks

and opt out by buying/giving too much junk food

Check out the eating habits of the ancient Abkhazians.

The fact that they died out must say enough about the quality of their eating habits cheesy.gif

But one big meal is advertised by some.. look up intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting has nothing to do with "one big meal". Look it up.

I looked it up .. some fast for 24 hours (meaning 1 big meal) others not.. so it depends on the method.

Best for: People who like following rules. The devoted.

How It Works: Warriors-in-training can expect to fast for about 20 hours every day and eatone large meal every night. What you eat and when you eat it within that large meal is also key to this method. The philosophy here is based on feeding the body the nutrients it needs in sync with circadian rhythms and that our species are “nocturnal eaters, inherently programmed for night eating.”

Weird. Let me copy the next sentence from this text - which you accidentally forgot to copy:

The fasting phase of The Warrior Diet is really more about “undereating.” During the 20-hour fast, you can eat a few servings of raw fruit or veggies, fresh juice, and a few servings of protein, if desired.

So, no one meal a day.

Intermittent fasting is never the "one meal" diet, it stands for diet plans which allow you to eat within a time frame. So, with "it depends on the method" you got it right in the way, how big the time frame to eat is, but just don't refer to intermittent fasting if you talk about "one big meal per day", because it's wrong.

And, yes, I do it since 6 months, 16/8, and this is finally something which keeps me healthy and fit :-).
