DPM assures no pressure on CDC to accept Cabinet suggestions

BANGKOK, 16 March 2016 (NNT) – The deputy prime minister has affirmed that it is up to the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) to accept or reject suggestions from the Cabinet but asked that it explain its decision to the 4 Rivers.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has assured that suggestions on the draft charter from the Cabinet to the CDC were not made to pressure the body on any matters. He stated only that if the CDC chooses to reject the suggestions, it should explain its choice to the other 4 of the 5 Rivers.

On his recommendation for military commanders to serve as appointed senators during the transition to the next government, Gen Prawit explained that the idea was to ensure that order could be maintained during the period. He added that the commanders are preferable as they can serve as intermediaries between different political factions.

Nonetheless, the defense minister affirmed neither he nor current prime minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha will be proposed for the posts after this administration ends as they want to see the country move forward.

"Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has assured that suggestions on the draft charter from the Cabinet to the CDC were not made to pressure the body on any matters."

Meanwhile, in another story in BP today:

"There is no pressure. The CDC will likely accept it. But If the CDC rejects it, I'll keep sending the proposal until the CDC recognises it. The proposal is for the good of the country," the prime minister said.

"keep sending the proposal until the CDC recognises it" is the very definition of pressure.

These guys need to get their lies straight...

These guys even started lying before the coup. Remember no coup and no desire to be PM. Lying with the powers to back them up are potent mix.

Yes, because these guys are totally impartial and utterly incorruptible!!

Meanwhile, in the real world.....coffee1.gif

CDC Chairman Meechai has said that there was an agreement between the CDC and the military junta as well as the government (aka Four Rivers) that if there is any problem about the charter draft between them, they would communicate

Not even former Democrat OM Abhisit gets that level of attention.
