I've been searching online for quite a while and am looking for either a clinic, hospital etc that I can go to, to get a MRI done I've looked online and many people have pointed out BNH hospital, Bangkok hospital, bunrumgrad hospital, are there any other places.

Any good experiences with those hospitals

Can you go on a weekend for a MRI

Any idea what prices are?

Look forward to any help and information

Prachacheun MRI center. Prices vary depending on what you want to have scanned.

Professional and fast once you get through the door. A bit of an issue getting them to take your money though and confirm that you are scheduled. They don't really call you back, and play fast and loose with the word "appointment". It is more of a Thai style clinic with the veneer of appointments.

But that is all just administrative details. They provide a good service at a very reasonable price. I saw many patients there who were referred from hospitals, presumably because the hospital doesn't have the expensive equipment to do it themselves. My wife even pointed out a Thai celebrity there the day I went, so apparently even the hi so Thais use them.

my advice, avoid the hospitals on phetburi soi 47, the doctors there are completly crooked! I had a horrible experience with the neurologist.

As a physician friend constantly reminds me: an MRI, X-Ray or Ultrasound is only as good as the person reading and evaluating it. Don't look for the MRI, look for the Radiologist.

I'd suggest moving this to the health forum where knowledgeable replies are more likely.

Agree except that it is not the radiologist so much as the treating specialist to consider. They will usually not even look at the radiologist"s repory but rather review the film themselves.

It is not clear if the OP is under a specialist's care who recommended this MRI. Should be. People not infrequently assume they need an MRI when in fact it is not necessary to arrive at a diagnosis or will not alter the plan of treatment.

In addition, need to know the exact parameters for the test: contrast vs noncontrast and any other special instructions. Otherwise may turn out you need a second MRI because the first wasn't what was needed....or maybe needed an MRA rathet than MRI to begin with. The doctor responsible for making the diagnosis or monitoring your condition is the person best placed to know what tests will make a difference.

So OP's first step if not already done should be to consult a relevant specialist to find out exactly what diagnostic tests are necessary.

The Prachuon MRI center is fine and will save money over having MRI done in a private hospital if what you need is MRI without contrast. If you need with contrast they can do it but there is some risk in receiving contrast material outside of a hospital setting....serious reactions can occur.

Having a bad experience with a specific Dr. hardly reflects on the hospital as a whole......

There are bad Dr's everywhere.

I recently went to St.Louis hosptial, between Chong Nonsi and Surasak BTS, for an X-ray and MRI. Was really quick service (apart from the actual MRI, which is a brutal hour or so), cost just over 10,000 baht all up. Not cheap, but if you need one, you can get it same day and the results next day. Hope this helps!

I went to BNH for my MRI. arrived unannounced and had it done 45 mins later. I got the results 1 hour later then proceeded to St Louis hospital to have my op. Cost of MRI was 8500 baht. Brilliant service.

Quite true, when I had my knee MRI I went back to the surgeon and handed him the report, he put down immediately without looking at it and said " I only want to see the pictures".
