National legislature to receive referendum questions from NRSA on April 1st

BANGKOK, 19 March 2016 (NNT) – The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) will submit its questions for inclusion in the public referendum, to the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) on April 1st.

First deputy speaker of the NRSA Alongkorn Ponlaboot, said today the assembly will seek input from its members regarding questions which should be included in the upcoming public referendum. These questions will then be summarized and forwarded to the legislature for review by April 1st.

Meanwhile, the NLA will convene a meeting on April 7th to review all questions concerning the referendum, but won't touch on details of the constitution until the drafting process is finished.

In regard to the suggestions of the Four Rivers, he said it is not an attempt to stay in power but rather to prevent the re-occurrence of political conflicts Thailand had suffered in the past.

Seems the last constitution had laws preventing the re-occurrence of political conflicts written into law before, and with the stroke of a pen, any laws broken by the junta past, present and future do not apply. So how will they rectify that?

Some people could suggest there is a fundamental issue with the constitutional courts stepping in, after elections are called, backed by the election commission, and royal decree, but when certain minority elite powers don't like it then police are told don't touch protesters regardless of their activities, to mention a few like breaking into building's, destroying equipment/documents and forcing workers to leave the buildings by threat of retribution for non-compliance to their demands Followed by the military refusing to do it's job of security of the nation which could be viewed as by some a dereliction of duty up to down right treason.

So yeah it would be good to see something in the constitution that is there to protect the country and the people from the few that will have power at any price and the people suffering yet again due to their greed and nepotism.

Then the country will have a chance to succeed and prosper.
