ardokano
In Chiang Mai the bottle shop on Nimman sells English beers for 150 to 165 a 500ml bottle. Cube No 7 for about 195 a bottle. My house from WishBeer about 155 a bottle. You try play.. need compare simular.. Be honestly. Nimman shop its not Bar. its can compare with shop.. and in some London pub i even have price 2.2-2.6 a pint.. how much is? near 100 bath? can yo show me bar(pub)!!!! with this is price in Thailand? so yes its can say expensive beer in Thailand if even compare with London( its top5 expensive city in the WORLD) beer in Thailand have near double price.. 0.75l hoegaarden London in shop 3 its near 150 bath in Thailand shop its ???= 300? and if compare with German or Czech its can be 300-400% up.. please be honestly and compare simular... OK - This from 2008. "The White Horse in Newnham Avenue also bucks the Bedfordshire trend for expensive bitter, serving Eagle IPA at 2.55, although Charles Wells Bombardier costs 2.85." Also, the Bomardier sold in Thailand is stronger at 5.2% rather than 4.7 for the domestic version. Supermarkets sell bottles from £1.30 each though Some people are happy to be ass-raped when buying a Beemer or a Merc for a few million baht, I'm happy being ass-raped for around 100b for a beer I enjoy. i nothing to say. All be different. ] i just say fact beer in Thailand expensive if compare with Europe( and not only Europe) Its Big bissnes. owner few family. And its VERY big money. so competition does not need.. And many point OP say its true.. i Do not understand why some guys resented( i not talking about you) chees..

KarenBravo
Ardo is understandable if you want to understand him. Lucky you. First he claims that Mercedes Benz buyers should pay import duty, which kind of indicates he thinks that they're imported. Then, he's told that they are manufactured in Thailand. This he disputes. Then he is then supplied a link to show that Mercedes Benz do manufacture cars in Thailand. He then claims he knew this all along. His English language skills are the least of the problem, though, still considerable.

They're not manufactured here in the same sense as, say, Ardo's favoutite Toyota is, more 'assembled' (hence the higher taxes and therefore joke prices).Anyway, he's doing better with his English than I would with my Japanese. ableguy
Many of the points are valid and admit it . It pisses most of us off, however nothing you can do about it so we learn to live with it, much better to list all the positive points of living here , if the pros out weigh the cons you will enjoy life opposite best you go home. mluberti
I am planning to move to Chiang Mai later this year after 3 1/2 years in Cuenca Ecuador. I like Cuenca but yearn for new adventure. After following some Thai blogs over the last month there seems to be much more anger, scorn and ridiculing toward Thai culture than I ever found on multiple Ecuador forums over 3 years. Are there that many embittered middle age men in Thailand?

Are there that many embittered middle age men in Thailand? Not really, only on anonymous forums. You're proof that for every disgruntled, miserable mug that leaves, two comes to replace him. This is why the foreigner population in Thailand keeps increasing every year. I'm still not sure if that's good or bad, but it is what it is.
