Europe tightens airport security as fresh attacks feared

BRUSSELS: -- Security is being tightened at European airports following the Brussels attacks, with the airport there now closed until the weekend.

In France the ongoing State of Emergency declared in November continues, and armed soldiers at airports, train stations and other public places is a common sight, but patrols have been doubled and spot checks are more frequent.

Frankfurt in Germany has also reinforced procedures and mobilised more troops and armed police, determined to prevent any attacks there.

“I feel very safe in Germany. I am not concerned. You see police everywhere so I feel safe and well protected, I think,” said one woman.

Rome is also on high alert as the authorities anticipate possible secondary attacks from ISIL, which claimed responsibility for Brussels and is believed by several security sources to be planning attacks over the upcoming Easter holiday period.

So all you white 70 year old men ,white grannys and children get ready for long delays ,while the obvious suspects will waltze through for fear that the guards will be accused of racial profiling .

So, how safe can one be. Do the governments want to check bags everywhere?

There is absolutely now way any force would be able to stop bombers.

The US threw A bombs on Japan to prevent from further mass blood shed.

What is happening today is way worse. The existence (implosion) of western society is at stake.

En large the Arabs as a whole and Israel need to show their responsiblity and make an end to the carnage.

No wonder more and more people start to believe in False flags and conspiracy theories.

Though trump is a hardliner, he would make things worse, he will cause im-and explosion.

After reading the Haaretz article, am not surprised Brussels had " advance and precise Intell" about the incidents that were imminent.....just connect the obvious dots that are displayed to the discerning eye and ear....and Bingo....Gladio B.

I for one am not really sure how you increase airport security more than it is.

Remember these bombs were on the land side, not the air side, so there are no security check as you walk into an airport, no difference to a train or a bus station in point of fact.

So my feeling is there is little or no way to stop these kind of attacks when they are in progress. The only way is intelligence, infiltrating terror cells to thwart any attack before it goes into play.

Then you have a different problem. According to the Washington post there are between 470-550 returned IS fighters in Belgium, a small country of ~11M. Now 7x24 hour surveillance takes according to a report I read on Reuters 24 agents. So 24 x 500 lets say, that's 12,000 men required, its a huge investment, and I'm sure as Hell Belgium has but a fraction of that.

So whats the answer, I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure that these attacks will continue, hopefully we will never know about those that get thwarted, but I do know that those who blithely spout simplistic nonsense such as, "waterboard everyone" and the like need to live a day in the shoes of an intelligence agent

Terrorist attacks don't happen back to back. I seriously doubt that any EU airport will be the target of a terrorist attack anytime soon. But it's great for scaring the 'little people'. Cower in place ya'll. Boo.

Yes…let's have hundreds of people bunched up together, with unscreened baggage, queuing up outside the airport now….sounds safe as houses.

idealy the solution comes from within. muslims have to purge/clean up their own areas/mosques. the muslims i know, my neighbours, are fed up and actually show their disgust like that french guy who uploaded his now-viral video after paris. but at the same time, what can they do? they simply stay clear from radical mosques because they are afraid being mixed-up with bad guys. a friend of mine hasn't gone to the mosque for 20 years! he only prays at home because he thinks mosques often attract "wrong" folks... he tells me there is nothing he can do and i think he is right. i "know" a drug dealer in my area too, local guy, not foreigner, i'm not going to tell the police either. i mind my own business. like most of us. i also know guys who don't pay taxes. i'm not gonna tell the tax man either... i'm sure plenty of muslims actually know someone is a radical but that doesn't mean they are all aware he wil be blowing himself up tomorrow. i'm sure if a guy is expected to blow himself up, and people know, many muslims would inform the cops.

If the terrorists are all coming from a specific demographic, then that demographic must be targeted if there is to be a long term solution. If all the terrorists have red hair, then all red haired people should be closely scrutinized. There is no easy way to do this. If western men cannot protect their women and children then they are not worthy of being called men. To sit back and say "There is nothing we can do." is cowardly. There is lot that can be done. But people are so afraid of appearing bigoted or racist that they are willing to sacrifice their own families to be politically correct. Angela Merkel is willing to sacrifice her fellow countrymen to get votes(her family is quite safe of course). The wolves are being invited into the hen-house.

We live in a world where we cannot even discuss this problem because people are so afraid of being labelled "Islamaphobic" or "racist" or "bigoted". The SJWs are standing by to shame and silence anyone who dares to speak out. The terrorists are using this to great advantage. Our SJWs are actually complicit with the terrorists. I wonder how the people who fought and died in WW2 would feel about this(rolling in their graves?)?
