digital pool water tester

Featured Replies

I am sure this is not the first time this sort of question has been posted. However technology changes quickly and thought maybe we could hear what the best test kits are being sold these days. What is a reasonable priced combo tester for PH and chlorine? The test tubes I have now are frustrating to try and guess what color the PH is so I simply would like something that gives me an exact read out of PH and Chlorine.

Thanks,

I ordered one of these and very happy with the accuracy.

For chlorine order the Aquachek 7 in 1 silver, as they test for free and total chlorine, TA, hardness and CYA.

This seller is reliable and ships fast.

I have the above strips and also ordered a digital hanna pH tester (was around 2400baht). The test strips are a bit hard to read with the pH.

For the average home pool this is the way to go .Hanna have been making these instruments for as long as I can remember and also supported in Thailand a very good product along with their tds meters.

You are spot on regarding the Hanna products, these low cost test products are only a joke.

I keep salt water fish and some of the pool readings are similar to my tanks.

If you are dealing with Hanna. American Marine, Milwaukee digital instruments they are all in order and can be calibrated.

Would make an expensive door stop,The ph side would be ok for soil testing maybe, as for measuring chlorine????

I would not even use this piece of crap as a door stop.

I thought that might be the response, it looks cheap and Chinese, but it could just actually work (but for how long one wonders).

I may buy one to try and compare with a cheapo two-bottle test kit and the decent strips. There may (or may not) be a surprise in store.

If it's carp I'll send it back as not fit for purpose.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I use the "Dr Meter" brand units for pH and TDS, and have found them to be excellent. Calibration is virtually pointless because they barely drift ;)
