BANGKOK, 1 April 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has prepared to travel to Russia to enhance trade ties this May.

Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak has received First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexey Likhachev, who traveled to Thailand to make preparations for Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha’s scheduled mission to Russia in May.

Likhachev used the meeting to assure that Russia is ready to engage in agreements with Thailand and expand economic cooperation.

The prime minister has prepared a delegation of industry representatives and members of the Thai Chamber of Commerce for the trip with the intention of fostering trade negotiations. A main objective of the trip will be to establish new trade ties in the food sector to replace those with Turkey.

He might be smarter than people think?

Exchanging the seafood (the west will in future reject ) to the Russians for tanks (to keep Bangkok safe from the pitch folks down track.)

I think between Russian & Chinese friends Thailand has a great long term "smooth as silk image " assured

Prayut the peacemaker.

First he develops new ties with Russia in 2014 in the food sector to replace those with the EU in Russia's complicity with the Ukraine insurgency.

Now he starts trade ties in the food sector to replace those with Turkey in Russia's repeated violation of Turkey sovereignty.

Might be better to say Prayut the handmaiden.

Good to see your imagined version of reality includes more countries than Thailand.
