Not sure if this subject belongs here, anyway I am just watching the European Indoors Track and Field Champions thing with a lot of extremely skimpily clad female athletes.

I am quiet convinced that the clothes the female athletes are wearing would be considered "inappropriate" in any Thai setting, including Songkran. Gorgeous bodies!

The European commentators do no comment on the issue of clothing, suggesting it is not an issue with the European Public, then the issue being a problem with the Thai then. Of course I acknowledge the notion of covering your boobs and in general being "clad" in public is a western culture thing imposed on the Thais by a King some time ago, it seems the western culture is going towards "nakedness" while the Asian culture is going towards "burka". The burka of course was a device during barbarian times to prevent being raped.

Now one has to ask which culture is going backwards and which is going forward....

I remember when I was young in Sweden, Girls would be topless (just as the guys, equality you now) on the beach, and nobody would care. But nowadays that has changed because of the immigration of all those dick shits that when they see a tit they automatically think its there for the rape.

Swedish liberalism, in many ways, developed over decades will not sit well in Thailand. Including dress code in public.

But there is an escape route: Go to a Go Go Bar! No dress code for the employees. You may get to like it so much, that you may well decide to put your "sporting activities" on the back-burner, especially if the temperature reaches 38 Celsius, combined with an air-humidity factor approaching 98 %.

So how is it that being almost naked in a competition is ok, but being almost naked during Songkran or a motor show is not ok? Is this the thing about nakedness in art being ok but nakedness in porn not particularly ok?
