YALA: Owner of a tea house in Raman district of Yala province and one customer died after a group of gunmen sprayed shots from assault rifles into the house Friday night.

The shooting by the gunmen wielding M16 and AK47 assault rifles on a pickup truck at the tea house at Ban Duzongtawa village at around 10 pm resulted in three critically injured.

They were sent to Raman hospital where two were pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigation later revealed three gunmen came by a white pickup truck and opened fire soon after parking in front of the shop.

Police have yet to establish whether the attack was either personal conflict or insurgency to create fear among local residents.
