Guys.... C'mon. Go to a dodgy looking pharmacy near the red light districts or tourist area. These places are going to still have it.

Or even better, see what a Dr has to say about using such a drug. It is not very safe and I am honestly very surprised it can still be sold over the counter.

Not safe ?? I've taken (had to) for last 15 years with zero side effects. Had full Medical last year and perfect health was the result

Good for you. Do I really need to explain how just because one person has no side effects or addiction to a medication that others indeed do? Please tell me you understand this.......

I find at pharmacies it helps greatly to write down the name, they will often not understand what you say but will recognize the written name. (Thais have their own way of pronouncing English words).

Ultracet is tramadol + paracetemol, ask for it only if that is what you want. If you want tramadol alone ask for tramadol. Several brand names of plain tramadol are themselves tramadol i.e.

Tramadol Stada, Tramadol T P, Tramadol Utopian.

Large pharmacies only, not places like Boots etc.

It's often recommended that you take paracetamol together with tramadol.

paracetamol is absolutely useless for severe pain, imo

It depends on what you call severe pain.

IV paracetamol is commonly used as a post-op analgesic.

Severe - on going pain, which is difficult to control, should be evaluated by a specialist in the management of chronic pain. The use of powerful analgesia is often not the solution to controlling chronic pain.

What the Govt is doing with Tramadol is to try and thwart its abuse. they think that if they set rules that require a pharmacist to dispense it and to people who need it that that would help alot of people in real pain. esp in rural areas where doctors can be scarse at times.......The honor system if you would want to call it that is getting raped by druggies both Thai and Farang.....soon getting this drug will go the way tylenol/codeine did 15 years ago.......morons coming here begging to find tramadol for recerational use are going to ruin it for people who cant either afford or make it to a hospital or clinic and need it for real pain.

Flaming posts and replies to them have been removed.

The OP did not indicate why he takes tramadol, only asked about where to buy it in Thailand.

Since that question has been answered and we seem headed for a general debate about the medication, thread is closed.

Like any medication, it has its uses and its potential risks. Side effects can be serious but not everyone has them.
