Sanyo gas oven no longer getting to the right temperature

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I have an old style Sanyo gas hob and oven that I bought about 8 years ago for around 6,000 bht. Yesterday I tried to do some baking which required a temperature of 180 degrees but the gauge shows its only reaching 150 degrees and after an hour 160 degrees. I noticed that the flame at the bottom burner was low and when I use the knob to increase the gas it went up just a little. This morning I took it out and apart from some surface rust I did not notice any other blockages. I put it all back together again but it has made no difference at all.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to get the flames higher and the temperature back to normal.

Cheap test: check/replace the regulator on your gas tank.

A good idea, any suggestions on how I can do this ?

Ask your bottled gas delivery guy to try a different regulator. They usually have a couple of spares with them.
