PHUKET: -- The death toll for the Seven Days of Danger Songkran road-safety campaign remains at zero after close of Day 2 of the campaign at midnight last night.

According to the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM Phuket), the preceding 24-hour period saw 11 people injured (six males, five females) in 10 accidents across the island.

Four of the accidents occurred in Mueang District with six more recorded in Thalang.

The main reason given as the cause of the accidents was drunk driving.

That's good news and probably means the Police should be equally present in the streets 365 days not only at Songkran

Let's see what they publish about the 13th because I heard of at least one death on the road (old expat) in Rawai.

They don't count them if they die in hospital later though do they?
