Chiang Rai father arrested for raping daughter - denies charge

CHIANG RAI:-- Police have arrested a Chiang Rai man on a charge that he raped his daughter continually over a seven year period from the aged of six to thirteen.

The man, a native of Ban Saew in Chiang Saen named only as "Bun" was taken into custody on Saturday by local police. He is the girl's true father, reports Manager.co.th.

He denied the charge, said that his daughter was lying and was angry with him after he had forbidden her from seeing a boy. He called for a lawyer and said he would fight the case.

The thirteen year old, named only as "Kai", a grade one high school student in a local school left home on the 12th of April and went to stay with an uncle. The uncle said that after four or five days she was reluctant to go home and then alleged that she had been raped continually since she was six. She told her uncle that she feared to tell anyone and was shy about what had happened to her. She further alleged that on the 11th she was watching TV when her father got drunk and tried to assault her, prompting her to go to her uncle's.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the girl's mother is mute and unable to communicate, said police.

Police are working with child welfare agencies, medical staff, psychologists and other authorities to prepare the case against the father who was remanded in custody.

Yes, but the man is always named even if not proved guilty, but never the accuser. Anywhere. He said she was upset about her boyfriend and accused him out of spite, which could very well be true.

Innocent until proven guilty......Medical tests will prove it or not......How many times in the west have lives been ruined by false accusations....let the authorities do their job first....then.....if guilty......chop 'em off....if innocent.....charge her with wasting police time......

This is why it is such a mine field in court ---I am not referring to the young girl in this case at the moment.....of course the trauma may have been caused by consensual rough S ex

The Fantasy that some men believe in ---Hymen = Virgin...is just that a fantasy- like some men still believe that women urinate through their Vagina. 52% of women still have a Hymen, years after having sex.......52%

The sex education at schools that most older males received (if any) was a disgrace......... however, so is the fact that with the internet ect, at hand , they continue in some of those archaic beliefs...............................

Agreed, my brother was accused by one of his daughters.....it turned out she was upset that he was going to remarry and didn't recant until she was on the steps of the courthouse! It nearly killed him!!

Lying in Thailand is on the menu and seen as the easy way to avoid revealing the truth, for whatever reason, or to prevent people from judging mental (dis)abilities often related to under being shy.

The ease of avoiding to speak out/up is a daily digest for the soap lovers in Thailand and widely copied.

But to come back on this case.......providing a neutral professional specialist in supporting victims and the truth unveils she speaks the truth.....the Dad is a creep.

Your correct RWA----although many of the "assessment's by a multi-professional child-protection team's" in the west especially in the UK have resulted --latter-in those whole departments being closed down----for their bias against the parents (both male & female)

Can we ever have a discussion where Thailand doesn't get the blame...a cursory look at Google before you rushed to blame Thai culture for figures on false rape accusations would have shown you how high they are in other countries........the U.S. Department of Justice (1997) put them at 8%.....that was nearly 20 years ago, you can bet they are well into the double figures now......I wonder if lying is on the menu in America........or is it of course just wicked Thailand .....again..........

post 2 glad you dont sit on a jury, some years ago my friend in the uk, (not me ok) had some trouble with his teenage rebelious step daughter, she went as far to threaten him by saying he had raped her if she did not get her own way, it frightened the hell out of him.
