Is it possible for us to get a visa for two week visit to China at Chinese Embassy in Chiang Mai ?

not a problem. Go to the consulate which is near the southern moat, not far from SIAM electric.

The 4-page form can be downloaded and fill it in at home. You'll need hotel addresses etc.

I usually take my plane bookings to show I'm returning to CNX, but don't know if this is necessary now.

Processing takes about 4 or 5 days.

I believe the fees are quite steep for us Brits, due to us charging Chinese visitors an arm and a leg if they want to visit Blighty.

Australian citizen, got one in February, wasn't a problem but you need to have everything perfect on the form and the form is full on in terms of wanting details.
