anotheruser
Any random Uber driver will more than likely rape you. It isn't safe to travel alone in my estimation.
SoiBiker
I use Uber alone all the time. So does my wife. Neither of us has been raped yet.

Dreamchaser5
Wow not the answers I was looking for ... I thought ayutthaya is very safe with lots of tourist?
lopburi3
Although above posts are tongue-in-cheek it really is best for females to travel with another person - especially if at night. Bus and train and van transport is much safer than taxi when this is not possible - and easy to obtain from/to Ayutthaya.

sturdyd
@Dreamchaser5 I'm probably too late to be of help (and don't know if anything I say would be helpful in any case). But I've lived in Ayutthaya for several years and in that time I've never, ever, felt threatened or frightened (except by traffic). But I'm a man and that, I suppose, makes quite a difference. Your post hit me like a slap in the face, causing me to reflect how different things might be if I were a woman. I would offer only the advice I give to any other tourists: Have a sense of adventure, keep a level head, and ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. That being said, I love Ayutthaya. So much calmer than Bangkok. Please post again after your visit. I'd like to know your experiences.
