Gran, 74, is definitely not pregnant, say Ayuthaya doctors

AYUTTHAYA:-- The story of the seventy four year old grannie who insisted along with her relatives that she was having a baby is not going to result in the patter of tiny feet.

Doctors in Maharat Hospital in Ayutthaya have said definitively that Chan Rojsingh is not pregnant, reported Thairath.

Thaivisa reported yesterday that the mother of five thought something was kicking inside and her relatives confirmed believed it too. Indeed, a simple pregnancy test at a clinic seemed to give further credibility to their claims. Doctors said no, but the family were still not convinced.

So they sought a third opinion and yesterday an ultrasound proved it was a false alarm.

Doctors are still not sure what is exactly wrong as they could not see with their equipment. So Chan has been referred to a hospital in Ang Thong where further more detailed tests will be carried out.

They suspect that she may have a small growth near the entrance to her womb that is causing the swelling.

I expect there are still family and friends that think she is pregnant. To be remove all doubt they should visit a local monk. I'm sure for a fee he would straiten this all out.

As soon as the doctors explained what causes pregnancy in order to explain why she couldn't be pregnant, both grandma and her family uttered "So that's what that thing is for. Who knew?"

Good grief, what's all the fuss about, I could have told them that. Whilst I am no astronomer, I sat up all night last night scanning the heavens to the east, unfortunately the Star of Bethlehem was nowhere to be seen.
