US: Bidding for Zimmerman gun tops 57 million euros

post-247607-0-08270100-1463266579_thumb.

Bidding in an online auction for the gun used to kill unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in the US in 2012 has topped 57 million euros.

But the amount appears to have been inflated by fake buyers with names such as a “Racist McShootFace.”

The weapon is being sold by George Zimmerman, 32, who shot Martin.

He said he acted in self defence and was cleared over the death.

What is the difference in this and when someone kills another person and writes a book about it or a movie is made about it? The perp gets the profits.

How said that crime doesn't pay?, paid big time here.....

Not if they are convicted of the crime:

A Son of Sam law is any law designed to keep criminals from profiting from the publicity of their crimes, often by selling their stories to publishers. While the term is most often used in the United States, it is also sometimes applied to laws passed with similar provisions in other nations. (Wikipedia)

The 57 million euros bid is very suspicious.

In 1991 the rifle used by Ruby to kill USA President Kennedy sold at an auction in 1991 for $200,000. Even accounting inflation that doesn't come even near the alleged bid on Zimmerman's pistol.

You might want to review your attempt at recall of history, as what you posted is incorrect in who killed Kennedy, the weapon used by Ruby, etc.

Half wrong does not come close to describing how much misinfo is in your post .

You are correct!!!!

It is Jack Ruby's pistol that killed Lee Oswald (assassin of Kennedy) that was auctioned for $200,000.

Still far more famous than Zimmerman's gun.

A shame you didn't provide the right information though.

You all did catch that Racist McShootface never actually handed over 57M euros and all the high fake bids were placed just to derail the auction, right?

Lol, they apparently aren't that quick and too busy trying to get worked up over something. Some of the other bidders names were hilarious also.

Sick or what?

American, what did you expect, if you can't get it up buy a gun.

Lol, most I know buy a Porsche or a used Ferrari instead of a gun at that stage . . ., but Viagra is certainly cheaper. What good is a good anyway?

What crime? http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/15/us/george-zimmerman-verdict-trayvon-martin.html?_r=0

Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder and acquitted of a manslaughter charge; there was no crime, the jury agreed the shooting was self-defense. So there is no application of the Son of Sam law.

What paid big time? http://edition.cnn.com/2016/05/13/us/george-zimmerman-gun-auction/index.html

It appears the auction has been nullified by prank bids and as of yesterday (Saturday) Florida time, the auction was discontinued.

Very ting tong that so many commenters here actually believe this story. There's no way ... even in 57 million years ... that someone would pay anywhere near that much money for that gun. Silly boys.
