King is receiving treatment of knee pains at Siriraj Hospital

BANGKOK: -- The Bureau of the Royal Household issued a statement Saturday night saying His Majesty the King has returned to Siriraj Hospital on Wednesday after he had high temperature, irregular heartbeat, and slight drop in blood pressure.

Announcement No 23 issued tonight said the team of doctors has examined his sickness and discovered that His Majesty has pains on both knees, and also has much mucus in throat.

A CT scan on the chest showed no sign of lung inflammation. But blood diagnosis revealed sepsis symptom of the lungs and body infection.

His Majesty was given antibiotics to relieve the knee pains and medicines to increase blood pressure and loosen mucus in the throat.

On May 12, CT scan was conducted on the chest with result showing minor inflammation on the right lung.

On My 13, His Majesty’s body temperature has reduced, while heartbeats and blood pressure have returned to normal rates.

Doctors have stopped giving medicine that would increase blood pressure, but continued treatment of knee pains with antibiotics, and medicines to reduce mucus, and give oxygen, and physically therapy treatment, the announcement said.

Thai delegate reviews UPR Working Group's 2nd Cycle report on Thailand
